Choose your auction. Plan your budget.

Compare what to check on each platform, how much deposit you need and what happens after you choose a car.

Copart & IAAI

Explore used, damaged and repairable vehicles. Start with the lot’s title, condition, location and photos, then compare the total cost with your budget.

  • Check the reported damage, keys, mileage and available inspection information.
  • Allow for repairs and transport when setting your maximum bid.
  • Confirm that the specific lot is available to buy through your account before bidding.

Through BasicMobile, the bidding deposit is 10% of your bid limit, with a $600 minimum. Your initial $100 counts toward that amount.

Manheim

Browse dealer auction inventory on the official Manheim website or app with your own account. Compare the listing photos, available condition report, mileage, location and sale format before choosing a vehicle.

  • Review any condition grade alongside the report and photos.
  • Check whether the displayed price is a bid or a Buy Now price.
  • Include auction fees, our service fee and delivery in your budget.

Through BasicMobile, the bidding deposit is 50% of your requested bid limit. Your initial $100 counts toward that amount.

How the first $100 works

Start with a $100 deposit for your own auction bidder account. It counts toward both your required bidding deposit and your vehicle purchase. It is not an additional access fee.

You can browse before you are ready to bid. When you choose a car, top up the deposit to the amount required for your bid limit.

Example: a $6,000 bid limit
Copart / IAAI: $600 total deposit, or $500 more after your first $100.
Manheim: $3,000 total deposit, or $2,900 more after your first $100.
These are deposit amounts, not the total cost of the car.

Budget for the whole purchase

Winning bid + auction charges + BasicMobile service fee + applicable documents and taxes + transport. Add a repair allowance when needed.

Your deposit is credited toward the purchase, so do not add it again as another fee. Auction charges depend on the lot and sale. Use our service fee page and request a lot-specific estimate before setting your maximum bid.

From browsing to bidding

  1. Start with $100 to receive your own auction bidder account.
  2. Your account is issued within 12 hours after deposit confirmation, usually within a few minutes.
  3. Choose a lot, estimate the total cost and set your bid limit.
  4. Top up your deposit. Bidding starts after the required total deposit is confirmed.
