AuctionACCESS without a dealer license: what a non-dealer can actually do

Every wholesale auction asks for an AuctionACCESS ID at registration, and AuctionACCESS only issues it to licensed dealers and their authorized staff. That is why “how to get into Manheim” always ends at the license. These are the routes that exist, side by side.

Direct access to Copart, IAAI and Manheim for $100. Not a broker bidding for you: your own login on the three official auction sites, under our Florida dealer license. You see every lot, you place every bid, you keep full control. No dealer license needed, no membership. The $100 is one-time and is credited toward your deposit and your car.

What AuctionACCESS is

AuctionACCESS is the industry registration system that verifies a dealership’s license, insurance and authorized representatives for Manheim, ADESA and hundreds of independent dealer auctions. Each representative gets an AuctionACCESS ID and card tied to the dealership. An individual without a dealer license cannot open one, and there is no consumer tier.

How the BasicMobile route works

BasicMobile is a licensed Florida dealer. We open bidder access in your name under our license: the official Manheim site and app, OVE and Simulcast, together with Copart and IAAI. You browse, read condition reports and bid yourself. After a win we invoice you, pay Manheim within its deadline, reassign the title to you and coordinate transport.

  • One-time $100 opens your own bidder account on Copart, IAAI and Manheim under our Florida dealer license; it is credited toward your deposit and your car.
  • Deposit to bid: 10% of your bid limit, $600 minimum (Copart, IAAI); 50% for Manheim.
  • Service fee only when you win: $200 up to $5,000, $300 up to $10,000, $400 up to $30,000, 1.5% above (Manheim from $300).
  • You bid yourself from our app; we pay the auction, handle the title and coordinate transport.
Manheim numbers: deposit 50% of your bid limit (your $100 included); service fee $300 up to $5,000, $400 up to $10,000, $500 up to $30,000, 2.0% above. Manheim buyer fees and transport are separate and quoted before you bid.

Why not just get a wholesale license?

If you plan to trade cars regularly, a wholesale dealer license is the right long-term answer: bond, state application, in some states a business address and insurance, typically months of paperwork and a few thousand dollars a year to maintain. For one to a few cars a year it does not pay back, and that is what the access route is for. Read how buying on Manheim works and what the public auction days actually sell.

Questions about auctionaccess without a dealer license

Can I get an AuctionACCESS ID without a dealer license?

No. AuctionACCESS registers licensed dealerships and their authorized representatives only. A non-dealer buys through a dealer: a broker, an agent badge on a friend’s dealership, or your own access under a licensed dealer such as BasicMobile.

Is bidding under another dealer’s license allowed?

The dealer is the registered buyer and is responsible for the purchase. That is exactly how BasicMobile works: the purchase goes through our dealership, you place the bids from your own access, and the title is reassigned to you afterwards.

How fast can I be on Manheim?

Within 12 hours of the $100 payment, usually within minutes. Bidding opens once the 50% deposit for your chosen bid limit is on file.
