Why Manheim is different from Copart and IAAI
Copart and IAA sell mostly insurance and salvage vehicles and both have a public pool. Manheim sells clean-title, dealer-consigned, lease-return and fleet vehicles, and only licensed dealers can register. There is no “no license required” filter. If you want a clean-title used car at wholesale price, this is the auction, and you need a dealer behind you.
Manheim access through BasicMobile
We are a licensed Florida dealer. Your BasicMobile bidder account includes Manheim, including the OVE online marketplace, alongside Copart and IAAI. You browse the official Manheim site or app with your own access, read the condition report and grade, and place bids yourself.
- Start: one-time $100, credited toward your deposit and your car.
- Deposit to bid on Manheim: 50% of your bid limit. For a $6,000 limit that is $3,000 on file, or $2,900 after your first $100.
- Service fee when you win: $300 up to $5,000, $400 up to $10,000, $500 up to $30,000, 2.0% above. Manheim buyer fees and transport are separate.
What to check on a Manheim listing
- The condition report and grade. Manheim listings usually come with a condition report; read it against the photos.
- Whether the price shown is a current bid or a Buy Now price.
- Odometer, title status and announcements (frame damage, structural, etc.).
- The location and the sale format: OVE buy-now, simulcast, or in-lane.
Payment, title and delivery
After you win, we invoice the vehicle balance, Manheim fees and our service fee. We pay the auction; auctions do not accept payment from a third party on a dealer account. The title is transferred to you through the dealer reassignment, and we coordinate transport from the Manheim location to your address or port.
Questions about manheim without a dealer license
Can an individual buy from Manheim?
Not directly. Manheim registers licensed dealers only. An individual buys through a dealer, and BasicMobile gives you your own bidder access under our Florida dealer license.
Why is the Manheim deposit 50%?
Manheim vehicles are clean-title cars at wholesale prices and the auction holds the dealer responsible for every purchase, so we require 50% of your bid limit on file before you bid. For Copart and IAAI it is 10% with a $600 minimum.
Do I bid myself on Manheim?
Yes. You use the official Manheim site or app with your own access and place the bids. We handle payment to the auction, title and transport.
