Buying Copart and IAAI cars for export

Buyers in Nigeria, Ghana, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East buy US auction cars every week. The auction side is the same as for a US buyer; the differences are payment, titles and shipping. Here is how it works through a Florida dealer.

Direct access to Copart, IAAI and Manheim for $100. Not a broker bidding for you: your own login on the three official auction sites, under our Florida dealer license. You see every lot, you place every bid, you keep full control. No dealer license needed, no membership. The $100 is one-time and is credited toward your deposit and your car.

Who can bid from abroad

Copart and IAA accept foreign buyers, but the licensed pool still needs a business license or a dealer account, and payment from outside the US is slower and sometimes rejected. BasicMobile opens a bidder account in your name under our Florida dealer license. You browse and bid yourself from our app, from any country.

  • One-time $100 to open the account, credited toward your deposit and your car.
  • Deposit to bid: 10% of your bid limit, $600 minimum (Copart, IAAI).
  • Service fee when you win: $200 up to $5,000, $300 up to $10,000, $400 up to $30,000, 1.5% above.

Paying the auction from outside the US

Auctions do not accept payment from a third party on a dealer account, so you do not pay Copart or IAA directly. You pay our invoice (card through Stripe, Zelle or bank wire), and we pay the auction within its deadline. Copart gives 3 business days including the sale day; IAA gives non-US buyers 4 business days. Late payment adds fees and storage, so have funds ready before you bid.

Titles: export-only, salvage, clean

  • Export-only lots cannot be registered in the US and must leave the country; they are often cheaper and fine for export.
  • Salvage titles are the bulk of Copart and IAA inventory. Check that your country accepts salvage vehicles and what inspection applies on arrival.
  • Clean titles come mostly from Manheim and dealer consignments, which your account also covers.

We collect the title from the auction and reassign it to you through the dealer reassignment process, then hand the documents to the shipper for export.

Shipping and transport

We coordinate towing from the auction yard to the port and work with container or RoRo shippers. Transport is quoted per vehicle and destination; send the lot link and destination port for a quote. Details on the transport and export page.

Questions about buying for export

Can I buy from Copart from Nigeria or Ghana?

Yes. Copart accepts foreign buyers, and with a BasicMobile account you bid yourself on the full inventory while we handle payment to the auction, the title and shipping to your port.

How do I pay Copart from abroad?

Not directly: auctions refuse third-party payments on a dealer account. You pay our invoice by card, Zelle or wire and we pay the auction within its deadline.

What does shipping cost?

It depends on the yard, the port and container versus RoRo. Send the lot link and destination port and we quote it before you bid.
