Copart membership cost: what you get for $99 or $249

Copart sells two paid membership levels, and neither one gives you a dealer license. Here is what each tier costs and allows, as listed on copart.com, and when it makes sense to skip the membership altogether.

Direct access to Copart, IAAI and Manheim for $100. Not a broker bidding for you: your own login on the three official auction sites, under our Florida dealer license. You see every lot, you place every bid, you keep full control. No dealer license needed, no membership. The $100 is one-time and is credited toward your deposit and your car.

Copart membership levels and prices

Basic$99 per yearBid in multiple online auctions; bid up to $2,000 without a deposit; bid on up to five cars at a time with a deposit; saved searches.
Premier$249 per yearEverything in Basic; bid on multiple vehicles at the same time up to $100,000 daily; priority in-location assistance, priority customer service, phone support.

Both paid levels are billed annually, with a refund available within 7 days. Prices are as published on copart.com in October 2026.

What membership does not change

  • Licensing. A Premier membership does not let you bid on license-required lots. Copart’s licensing page is explicit: if your state requires a business license for that vehicle, you need the license, a broker, or a “No Business License Required” lot.
  • Fees. Buyer fees, the gate fee and bid fees are the same for Basic and Premier (see Copart fees).
  • Deposits. Basic members need a deposit to bid above $2,000; Premier keeps one refundable deposit on file.

The no-membership option

Through BasicMobile there is no annual membership. A one-time $100 opens your own bidder account on Copart, IAAI and Manheim under our Florida dealer license, and that $100 is credited toward your deposit and your car. Because the account sits under a dealer license, the license-required lots are open to you.

  • One-time $100 opens your own bidder account on Copart, IAAI and Manheim under our Florida dealer license; it is credited toward your deposit and your car.
  • Deposit to bid: 10% of your bid limit, $600 minimum (Copart, IAAI); 50% for Manheim.
  • Service fee only when you win: $200 up to $5,000, $300 up to $10,000, $400 up to $30,000, 1.5% above (Manheim from $300).
  • You bid yourself from our app; we pay the auction, handle the title and coordinate transport.
One car a year, $4,000 salvage sedan: Copart Basic costs $99 and may not be allowed to bid on the lot at all in your state. BasicMobile costs $100 (credited to the car) plus a $200 fee when you win, and the lot is open.

Which one to choose

  • You only want to watch prices: Guest, free.
  • You live in an open state, buy public lots only, and bid under $2,000: Basic.
  • You want salvage or dealer-only lots, bid above $2,000, or live outside the US: an account under a dealer license. Read buying from Copart without a dealer license.

Questions about copart membership cost

How much is a Copart membership?

Guest is free, Basic is $99 per year and Premier is $249 per year, billed annually, as listed on copart.com in October 2026.

Does a Copart membership let me buy salvage cars?

Only where your state allows public buyers to purchase that title type. Membership is not a license. For license-required lots you need a broker or an account under a licensed dealer.

Is there a way to bid on Copart without paying a membership?

Yes. BasicMobile opens your own bidder account under our dealer license for a one-time $100 that is credited to your car, with no annual fee.
