COPART · PAYMENT · STORAGE

Copart payment deadlines, late fees and storage, explained

Most expensive mistakes at Copart happen after the win: a missed payment window, a car left in the yard. Here are Copart’s published deadlines and charges, and how payment works when you buy with an account under a dealer license.

Direct access to Copart, IAAI and Manheim for $100. Not a broker bidding for you: your own login on the three official auction sites, under our Florida dealer license. You see every lot, you place every bid, you keep full control. No dealer license needed, no membership. The $100 is one-time and is credited toward your deposit and your car.

How payment works through BasicMobile

Auctions do not accept payment from a third party on a dealer account, so you do not pay Copart directly. After the win we send the invoice: vehicle price, Copart fees, our service fee and any title or transport you ordered, minus the deposit already on file. You pay by card through Stripe, Zelle or bank wire, and we pay Copart inside its 3-day window. Have the funds ready before you bid; the window is short.

  • One-time $100 opens your own bidder account on Copart, IAAI and Manheim under our Florida dealer license; it is credited toward your deposit and your car.
  • Deposit to bid: 10% of your bid limit, $600 minimum (Copart, IAAI); 50% for Manheim.
  • Service fee only when you win: $200 up to $5,000, $300 up to $10,000, $400 up to $30,000, 1.5% above (Manheim from $300).
  • You bid yourself from our app; we pay the auction, handle the title and coordinate transport.

Avoiding storage

  • Book the tow before the sale day if you cannot collect quickly; we quote transport from any yard.
  • Copart does not let you drive the car off the lot; a transporter or tow is required.
  • Export buyers: the car goes from the yard to the port; dock dates matter, so plan the container or RoRo booking with the pickup.

Questions about copart payment and storage

How long do I have to pay Copart?

Three business days including the sale day. After that a $50 late fee applies, and after 8 calendar days the lot is relisted with a fee of 10% of the price, $600 minimum.

Can I pay Copart with a credit card?

Yes, but credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay use the higher unsecured fee schedule. Wire or debit card is cheaper. Through BasicMobile you pay our invoice by card, Zelle or wire and we pay Copart.

What if I cannot pick the car up in time?

Storage is charged per day after the free days. We arrange the tow or transport from the yard; book it before the sale if timing is tight.
